What is a seedling?  Young trees or shrubs are grown for 1-3 years and then dug up for sale. Height and size vary, depending on the type of tree. Planting a seedling saves money because they are less expensive. Conifer seedlings are available by contacting the District office.

What is a transplant?  Older seedlings have a more developed root system.  A tree listed as "2-2" in the age column of our order form means that it was in a seedling bed for 2 years, then moved to a transplant area for 2 more years. For example, Fraser Fir (2-2) = 4 years old.
